Despite a brief dip in carbon dioxide emissions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the world is still heading for a potentially catastrophic 3.2°C temperature rise this century, according to the UNEP Emissions Gap Report 2020. However, a green pandemic recovery that prioritizes climate action can cut around 20 percent off the greenhouse emissions we would expect to see in 2030 and set us on the path towards a sustainable net zero world.
